Paris Marathon - 9th April 2006
Tom Salt is running the Paris Marathon (omitting the calf) with a school friend, Pete Knight. They are 22/23 and, although reasonably fit, neither of them have run competitively for 5 years!
Tom has decided to raise money for two causes and the money will be split between them. The first is The Compassionate Friends and the other is the Colegio Britanico Los Andes. Tom's brother, Jack, was working there in his gap year when he died in a climbing accident in 2004
He has been training for the Marathon for a couple of months and, hopefully, is on track for a under 3 hour finish. Please feel free to double your donation if he achieve's this!

Flora London Marathon - 23rd April 2006
Marathon runner Steve Scully, and long-term supporter of the work of The Compassionate Friends, will be representing TCF this year in the London Marathon in April 2006.
Steve is an Emergency Planning Officer in Kent, and was instrumental in the setting up of the Kent Voluntary Sector Emergency Group (KVSEG), of which TCF Kent members became an integral part. As Chairman of the group Steve helped ensure free training on all aspects of disaster response for all the voluntary group members, in addition to involving TCF with the delivery of training both at a local and national level.
On a personal note, Steve is well known for his warmth, energy, enthusiasm, and a great sense of humour. Lets all show our support and thanks to Steve by sponsoring him.
